Hey all, just did a reverb amp, which is a first for me and I'm really digging it. It's a clean amp and very sweet and silky. It's built in a BUD chassis I've had sitting for a long time that had a few holes punched. I don't use these chassis much anymore. I hesitate to call it a beaks and feet build, but that may be an apt description. Inspiration came from my Silvertones and Princeton Reverb. JJ 6V6s and a JAN 6X5 with a couple of JJ 12AX7s and a 12AT7. I've had the tank for years, unused, prompting my decision to build an amp with reverb. It's a shorty from Mojo and sounds great to me with this amp. NOS coupling/bypass caps. Filters are BMIs from Apex Jr. and my first amp built with them. The PT is a Mercury Magnetics that's been sitting for ages, pulled from a much older build that may or may not still be around. The OT is a Classic Tone. A very simple amp that I've been all over since it was ready to play on Easter. I still need to order a proper ON/OFF switch, as you can see in the pics. I'm planning on a Nikkai DPDT, since the terminals are a good way behind the switch and should be close enough for my PT's leads. The Carling worked but I stupidly wired it upside down. There's also my mini toggle that I haven't decided what to do with yet. We'll see what comes to mind. Until then, I'm very happy with the tone. I hope you dig!
Looks okay. In the future you may want to move the tone control components to direct connections on the pots. It saves space and cleans things up a bit.
I can hear a slight hum. That could be caused but the grounds to the chassis. Is hum at a tolerable level?
