Tube socket contact cleaners

Post by Bob S »

Small dental brushes - you guys using these ? Works pretty good with a little de-oxit. Scrub then tighten.
But don't forget to drain the caps.

Any drug store - almost wrote chemists. A drug store is something different where I come from.

Got some of the straight-handle ones a year or so back, good cleaning tool. Besides the ergonomic handle, is yours motorized like modern toothbrushes?

The downlow cheap way is to use a cut off section of a round wound string with the needed OD to just expand the tube socket reciver pin a bit as you scrub it in and out, and yes drain the power supply which can be done easy if the amp has a standby switch that you can flip on with the mains switch off of course!
