MM transformer in Egnater Tweaker 40

Post by M Fowler »

I'm down to the voltage switch wiring and have photos of other people wiring these up but need to make sure that the black wire from power switch reconnects to the top left voltage selector switch white wire MM transformer and previously was red wire Egnater transformer?

I'll upload some data sheets I have both for Egnater transformer and Mercury transformer tomorrow.

When installing the new Mercury transformer don't reuse the washers just the bolts otherwise you will not be able to line up the mounting holes because the larger washers hit the Mercury mounts and will not let you slide the unit enough to get the bolts in on other side. What! Extra parts left over?

Use shrink tubing to protect transformer wires going through chassis holes. I didn't have correct size grommets for the holes.

Successful transplant. It took me a while staring at the Mercury wiring diagram but the blue wire is tied to the white 120v primary which goes to a board near the power/standby switches. The other primary were connected to the voltage selector switch.

Glad I made it through this ordeal, well big job to me

Some google photos helped.
