this is my first video. I am still a beginner. these lessons are intended to help introduce people to amp modification/repair.

let me know if you guys think this is a good resource, in your opinion, and let me know how i can make this better. I am always open for mod suggestions.

please like, subscribe, and comment. i will try to answer all messages in a timely manner. i hope to make this a resource that TAG can give its stamp of approval!!!

I applaud your intent. But there are so many things wrong, I'm not sure where to start. Like, put the warning first, and if you're going to teach how to discharge caps, show how to use a meter to read the voltage

The demo is barely useful--I can just hear the difference, but the sound of the room is as loud as the sound from your amp (I can hear your pick hitting the strings).

Get some lights! It's so dark!

Video is no place for text-heavy reading, or schematics. A web page, with embedded video would be much better. Then you can link to all kinds of useful stuff, like the cathode bypass frequency chart.

Edit your video! For example, you've got 10 seconds of dead air while we're waiting for you to start playing.

Sorry, you asked for feedback.

no need to be sorry. those are pretty much all things i wanted to fix after i had posted it. next video will be much better and i will have my wife video for me and help edit.

this was kind of a trial run to weed out these kind of issues.

does the general idea seem ok?

intro to mod and theory behind it
comparison sound clips
how to and lesson

maybe i should show stuff like the bypass cap calculator in the vid?

thanks for the reply!!!

Sure, it's an awesome idea, and if you've got the time, I'm (and maybe others are) happy to help. Can I suggest you post your "script" here for proofing?

script is pretty much on my last post.

mod
what effects it has
theory behind it
soundclip comparison
lesson on how to perform mod

thats pretty much it....

and so far im planning on doing:
bypass caps
cathode resistors
plate resistors
b+ dropping resistors
slope resistor
tone stack caps
coupling caps

pretty much beginner level things. and then if people want more i will learn the theory for more mods and maybe start amp specific mods. idk. depends how this goes and if i can get the quality necessary. if my lessons are not quality then i may as well not do them...but well see after the next few....
