He moved the shop shortly after that video. This location was too loud and full of tourists over actual buyers, I believe. Great collection of guitars in one place.

Walter left and George got greedy for the first time in his life when prices were soaring. He bought instruments over retail with is own jack.

Went there once 20 years ago, not that I was expecting to find Merle crying in his beer at Tootsies or Earnest Tubbs in a Nudie suit at the cash register in his store, it had already changed, but it was still a normal place. Doesn't sound that way anymore. I was chased out of my 'hood in NYC after 30 years not just because a pound of apples was $3 but because the vibe had so succumbed to suck that every morning I'd wake up and curse humanity. No way to live.

Turns out same crap everywhere no matter how remote. I don't think there's a little town anywhere in Italy that isn't gentrified, unless it's made of poured concrete and along a highway. Old historic center of home sweet Bumfucco is all mostly empty second homes, or lawyer offices. Stand around at 1:30pm and neutron bomb dead silence. No traffic, no blaring tvs of half deaf geezers from windows, no sounds of moms yelling at kids to get to the table while pasta's still al dente, no sounds of plates, cutlery, glasses being used. No canaries, minas in windows, no cats on streets, no smell of wine must drifting up from basements in the fall. Half the windows on any block always shuttered. If you like calm at least gentrifyers are quiet, but pitiful end to 2000 years of human activity.
