Electronics in LA

Post by angelodp »

Discovered this shop in LA - Torrance Electronics, they have a good supply of components. They might not have all the goodies but its a bib big step up from RS for small stuff. They do have switchcraft, and CF resistors as well as some supplies of caps, wire, etc. No affiliation just want to spread the word so these guys stick around another sixty years.

1545 W Carson St, Torrance, CA 90501
(310) 328-2501

If you are in the LA area and know any other places, please list. In the end its the internet for most things but always good to have a local place.

Thanks Jelle, you find that Abeltronics has an array of C&R that we all use?

I remember that they had a bunch of older NTE resistors that some may want.

It has been a while, I do not fully remember exactly, but most they have is behind the counter and you will need to ask for it.

Ok, I'll have to roll a trip that way soon to check it out. Pity Marvac left the WLA area.

Best A

Best place to go to is still ApexJR.

Steve is great, and he has many things that we all want. Wire, caps, tube sockets, etc. 8)

There used to be a Mar Vac in Orange County I used to frequent. As well an R Vac, that was rumored to be run by Mar Vac's brother. In fact, if memory serves, I do believe there was a third, similarly-named store, run by yet another brother. It has been a whole bunch of years - heck, I left OC for norther CA nearly 10 years ago....

Yes yes Orvac just east of Pasadena. They don't have much selection of caps or R's, plenty of other stuff.
