I've been looking at a Mesa Boogie Lonestar schematic for some ideas and noticed that they are using relays to switch channels. The common contacts connect directly to the 100k plate resistor with the NC and NO contacts connecting either to the tonestack or the od stage via a cap.
Can they get by with this because the current is so low despite the voltage being around 200V dc? I haven't seen any small relays rated for these voltages on the contacts.
Thanks,
Rut

Re: Relay contact ratings
Well kind of!
current flow will pit contacts, and too much voltage will arc them over, but the milliamps of plate current is what keeps them from going south faster than what they do, and they do fail with use and age!
