Latest Build - Mini (MIDI) Minimalist (extra gain stage)

Hi to All -
I don't think I have posted here before but I have checked out the forum on many occasions and would like to say Thanks to the guys here for having such a great site -

I have just finished my latest build - basically a copy of the Mini Minimalist amp but with a second preamp stage of half a 12AY7 for extra gain (Midi Minimalist?) and with a James/Baxandall Tone Stack (which I may change later - never tried one before) ....

I was reasonably pleased with the build and was using some old original 6v6gt's in it but as of this morning I put in a matched pair of the Russian Military 6n6c tubes in it - boy did this amp come alive - sensational sound coming from the GWS 12" ET65 speaker - the notes were very articulate, great touch response from strings to the amp - really gives everything you put into it - I have only tried my Fender players special thinline semi hollow tele with Warman Soapy Joes P-90's - everything is so crisp and articulate and when you dig in it delivers a great crunch and when pedalled with a couple of home brew pedals it really bites and sustains for a tremendous time.

I am exceptionally pleased with the build - so much so that I just had to write and let you guys know that if you are tired of your current 6V6GT AMP then perhaps give thought to building one of these babies ....

I have built quite a few amps over the last few years and this one is a keeper along with my Fender copy of a 5F6A Bassman - Not everybody's cup of tea but for the BLUES these 2 Amps can't be beat for my style of playing - rough old bush blues from downunder in OZ ...

Hey, Sorry about that - I just tried a search myself and found a link to another site - sewatt.com - but you have to be signed in over there - I basically have been scouring the net for amp ideas and usually do a google search for 6V6 PP amps and use the IMAGES button and scroll through there - that's where I found the schematics I think .... I will give a description of the workings and try to post a schematic of what it was I modified the circuit of -

V1 is 6SJ7 Pentode, V2 is 12AY7 (half), V3 is 12AX7 LTP PI, and 2 6V6GT in PP Cathode Biased. I used a James/Baxandall Tone Stack (for evaluation) seems to work ok ....

I am trying to draw up a schematic for it using Tiny Cad but haven't used it before - it may take a few days to get it done properly but if there is interest in it I will get it done in due course ....

I'm not young anymore at 60yrs ....
