Impedance selector switch
Which switch is good for Impedance selector switch? (manufacturer, part number)
I saw mouser's rotary switch catalog, but I can not find best one.
Funk,
Do you use which switch for your HRM clone?

Re: Impedance selector switch
It's an Electroswitch 3pole 2/3 position switch, I got them from Allied, I'll call them for the p/n later, I can't seem to find it on the search.

Funk,
Thank you. I saw electroswitch catalog. C4 series?
from your photo, It looks 1 pole, 3 position.

Which is good from the viewpoint of fail safe?
"shorting" or "non-shorting"?

Re: Impedance selector switch
I'm not using those anymore, That's the Ohmite switch out of a Komet--I actually took that one out of the amp, I didn't like the feel.

Funk,
That is a nice looking HRM!
What is going on that impedance switch????! That's a bunch of wires you have there! Can you please explain this with a drawing?
Thanks,
Jelle

Re: Impedance selector switch
I think funk is paralleling contacts to increase the current-handling...
I usually use the selector switch Doug Hoffman sells on his site. Really Heavy-Duty.

Yep, Doug sells NKK...rated at 6A! (Compare that to a Lorlin at 0.5A.)tubetek wrote:I think funk is paralleling contacts to increase the current-handling...

Iagree 100% that if you are a stickler for originality, there is only one choice, however... An analogy-
When I used to show my car long ago (1970 HEMI 'Cuda!) I would be sure to have the original spec glass tires on otherwise points taken off; When driving it however, I always used top quality Steel-Belted radials...Better performance AND safer.
Respectfully,

Re: Impedance selector switch
Ok, this switch is Rated at 9A wired as such and is FAR more solid than that slushbox that hoffman sells, and doesn't turn to powder like the Ohmite.
Use what you like, but OT's are expensive, I'm sticking with this one.

Re: Impedance selector switch
it's an electroswitch, it's a bit bigger than a silver dollar, and it's realy stout feeling. The contact is VERY solid......here's a pic of one in the real thing...
