Mouser is now taking paypal

Post by beasleybodyshop »

I just noticed this today on a mouser order. When did they start doing this? About time, I hate transferring money out of paypal, waiting three days just to use it for repairs!

I didn't realize that it was a new thing for them when I placed an order a few days ago. I guess prior to then I never used PP. Definitely more convenient. :)

This strikes me as a bow to consumers. It is a blow to the business, though, because PP merchant fees are typically higher than credit cards like Visa and MC. If there is a lot of volume, basic economics suggests they will pass it alone in their pricing. I don't actually see PP as a good thing in the commercial environment. OTOH, PP is really great for eBay because it equalizes the playing field for people who don't want or need a merchant account, but need an easy way to take or make payment.

Oh I hope not....I was reading an article about it the other day, apparently it is really useful for money laundering by drug cartels.

Hell, around here HSBC (stands for Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation) got nicked for allowing the cartels to money-launder. So what did they do? Shut down all the HSBC branches, go dark for about a year, then reopen as Niagara, sounds all New York but it's HSBC under a different name. Oh, plus pay a fine of about $ 1 billion but that's chump change for banksters.

With what the banksters & Ollie North type shady deals being the order of the day, I say BitCoin, BigDeal.
