My HRM Schem. and layout

Post by Tonegeek »

Now I undestand why it is so hard to get a complete, 100% correct schematic! But then half the fun and challenge is doing the detective work to fill in the blanks. I will say that my schematic although based on ODS-101 is altered somewhat. The supply is different, the presence wiring is not like ODS-101 but more like some other ones I have seen on this forum (Mat?, Normster?) and more in line with some gut shots of real Dumbles. I tried the OD-101 presence and did not like it, but love the way it is now wired. (Thanks Groovetubin for setting me straight on this and other matters  )

Spent the last couple of hours trying to update these files. Even so, no guarantees. The layout has some stuff on the control panels upside down because I started to build a tubes down configuration then switched to tubes up after I started worrying my chassis would flex too much. Also I have wanted but never owned a Marshall head and since I was using Marshall trannies and El-34 tubes, it seemed fitting. Also not sure power cord is shown wired with correct polarity. After this I am off to planning my Twin makeover...

PS - just updated this layout to the full size version. It is mostly drawn to scale so you could use it as a template. The spacing on the main board is very tight so you will have to be very carefull. i would recommend adding a bit more space between the HRM control eyelets and add some extra eyelets around the tone stack if you think you will be wanting to experiment with cap switching, etc. Also, do not put the HRM controls under the board like I did! I drilled holes in the chassis so I could adjust from outside the amp, but this is not necessary and actually makes it harder to adjust when the amp is upside down on the bench. Just put them on top like everyone else does.

ALso, on the schem. my current values are the ones NOT in parenthesis.

Edit: just noticed B+6 and B+7 are backwards! B+6 is higher volatage and should go to the send (cathode follower) side of the FX tube not the recieve side like shown in schem. and layout.
