Western Electric 310A pentode tube….

Post by spectrasound »

Anyone have a schematic for building a mic. preamp…or preamp in general…. with this tube? I have a pair of WE preamps with this tube, but not enough gain/headroom. Would love to see a preamp circuit with this tube.

Looking at the data sheet http://www.westernelectric.com/spec_sheets/310A.pdf it occurs to me you might be able to use a pair as push-pull power tubes for a ~1W amp. The trick is to find an OT with 100K primary. For the OT, you probably have to troll eBay for old iron for which listings are typically plentiful, but painful to look through so many.

Sorry...I'm no help with the question you asked.

Something like this into 16 ohms looks to be about right. The price is right, too.
