Re: Faceplate art?
What do you need done?
I can do basic stuff if you just need lettering.
I have a laser and can cut/engrave plastic panels.
I did a reverse engraved panel for a plexi I am starting work on soon.

I haven't done any wood amp plates, but I have done other wood gadgets and test pieces. Works well for both cutouts and engraving/lettering.

Re: Faceplate art?
Letters are not too hard to burn by hand with the soldering iron, I've done it, so it can't be difficult.
Mark off parallel pencil lines faintly for top and bottom of the letters as a guide.
Trains, dragons, etc are more difficult, but you might surprise yourself if you try.
Practice on scraps first. Pull the point of the iron. Pushing digs in.

Also snoop out TAG member Linz, he posted some astonishing panel work a couple months ago.
down technical blind alleys . . .
Re: Faceplate art?
I was able to talk Sandy at Precision design into pointing her laser at your faceplate. The lettering came out real well on the maple. Pretty tight and crisp cuts.
I had her do the "art" in her normal plastic as an insert. But I would guess that "simple" stuff could also be done with a laser. The lettering on this one is white 'cause I filled in the laser cuts with paint. The laser did not really leave any char on the maple.
I have no idea if she is up to doing any more wood or not. In my case, I already had the faceplate you made so she was willing to give it a go.

Re: Faceplate art?
I'm the pyrography guy who was working with Sellout last year. I had some things come up and was too busy for a while, but I can take on a few of these projects again.

Re: Faceplate art?
I can do anything you need, really. I can do anything from simple lettering to huge intricate images. I have a few blank Trainwreck faceplates lying around but I'm not really set up for woodworking production, so we'd have to work out the plate fabrication if you don't have them already. If you have good drawings I could take to a cabinet shop here and just pass along the cost plus a little extra for my time. Figure about $50 for a burn equivalent to a TW faceplate with a design, plus any shipping and fabrication costs.
