so...anyone going? I actually enjoy this show more than the big one at Market Hall in April. I once scared away Eric Johnson by trying to shake his hand lol.

Wassamatta, you got big gnarly gorilla hands?

Had a good little jaw wag with EJ, San Antonio in '92, he was asking whether I had any of the "old style" Dunlop Jazz III 80's dark red matte-finish picks. Dug thru my work trunk and voila', here ya go Eric! Then he had a couple thousand made up, with his name or initials pressed on, so Jim Dunlop Jr. told me. ;) Glad I could help, Mr. Johnson!

Woah! Cool story Leo. I use those Dunlop jazz III picks quite a bit. Really forces you to be very efficient with your picking.

If anyone is going to Guitarlington, let me know. Would be fun to meet up and bullshit and what have you.

You're in with a good crowd. At the time I was guitar flunky and amp janitor for Frampton and he liked those picks too BUT wouldn't pay for a special run made like they used to be. However, Eric Johnson dug into his pocket and paid for a big batch made the ol' fashioned way. Jim Jr told me other Jazz III users at the time included Roger (Jim) McGuinn and John McLaughlin. Not much of a pick user myself but I see the "point" of the Jazz III. Also like Dunlop Stubbies & model 206, all similar shapes. And you can always turn 'em around and bash strings with the fat side.

Enough yarn spinnin'! On with the guitar show!
