I have a Vox AC30 amp that has a scratchy master volume pot. Figured it would be easy enough to clean (or replace the pot if cleaning does not fix it)
However when I started disassembling it to get at the pot it appears I need to remove the pcb from the panel with all the pots attached to get access.
I am not sure how to remove the little toggle switches from the panel - there are some round metal covers over the hex nuts that seem to be stripped or are spinning the threaded part of the switch so I cannot remove the covers. They are threaded and thread on to the pot shaft. One came off easy enough but there are 3 more that are being uncooperative..
Anyone run into this and have an easy fix? I am sure some of you that service a lot of amps must have..
I thought I would ask before I scratch things up more than I have trying to get them off

Hi Lindz,
I just serviced one of these this week. Unfortunately, as you found out it is a b!tch to get to the pots. The board faces the other way. Brilliant. I don't know what to tell you about the uncooperative pots...another victim of cheap chinese parts. You might try placing a piece of latex kitchen gloves or surgical rubber around the ring; give the tool something to grip on to without mauling the part itself.
