Fender Deluxe - loud pop w/trem footswitch

Post by kgreene »

Sounds like DC voltage pop when I use the trem footswitch - any ideas?
Didn't used to do that as I recall.

Amp is a 1966 blackface Deluxe Reverb.

Any suggestions appreciated.

The trem footswitch is switching DC (but only the raw bias voltage). The pop may be a transient getting into the reverb footswitch circuit. Try cleaning up the grounds on the reverb footwitch plug and jack. Also be sure you have the footswitch connections to the right jacks: the reverb cable is shielded, the trem cable is not.
