Greetings and salutations!
I know the reverb a lot of guys have been adding to the Rocket is based on the Matchless Lightning Reverb schematic but I have a couple/few questions about your experiences.
Has anyone compared this take on the lightning reverb to the actual one that uses two triodes for the recovery? Is there much of a difference?
Since you are feeding the reverb signal into the other side of the PI are there any phase issues whether you use the one or two triodes?
When using four triodes (two for drive, two for recovery) for the reverb isn't the actual matchless reverb signal in phase with the dry signal so shouldn't it be mixed in on the dry side of the PI? Or does the tank screw with the phase so much that it doesn't really make a difference?
Thanks for your input!
Nick

No issues with Normster's version of the reverb, it is very subtle when using the short medium decay tank. I don't even bother using the reverb pad switch either.

Re: Rocket Reverb Compared To Matchless Reverb
Have you ever tried it with a long tank?
I just finished an octal rocket-esque build from parts I had laying around and was thinking of adding reverb. I wired v1 so that one input is single triode (v1b) and the other input is parallel (V1a+b) so I don't have the extra unused triode. That being the case is there any reason I shouldn't go with the extra triode a la matchless? Will I run into phase issues if I do?

Re: Rocket Reverb Compared To Matchless Reverb
I think I did try my Super Reverb tank through it once but liked the short tank better less Dick Dale surfing to my ears.
Here is Henry's one tube reverb.
