Hi guys.
I'm looking for some technical advice. I gutted an old Japanese ELK amp, and want to rebuild it using a Fender AA964 circuit.
The problem that I'm having is that the original ELK PT only has a 6.3v filament winding for the rectifier tube, (rated at 1A) so I can't use the specified GZ34 rectifier. The PT secondaries are 320-0-320.
I've considered using SS rectification, but that'll give me around 450v on the 1st cap, which I think is a bit high.
My question to those of you in the know is: Will I be able to use the EZ81 in this circuit without any problems, or might I have to find other options?
Thanks.

You can buy a separate filament transformer for the GZ34.

Whatever solution you choose, be sure to make the bias voltage adjustable. That's one of the weak links in all Princeton circuits. The EZ81 should be fine, but may make your B+ lower than you want.
