Got a line on a replacment transformer for my Rockster build, its a Hammond unit rated at 4000 and tapped for 2 ohms only, i assume that running a 8 or 16 ohm speaker should be ok but will it be ok with 2 6l6s
Cheers Gary

Re: New OT
That OT, 4K:2 will also function as 16K:8 or 32K:16. IMO, 16K or 32K are both poor choices for a pair of 6L6. It might be an interesting choice for one 6SN7 (PP triodes). Or use it with a 2 ohm load as designed.

Re: New OT
what phil said I wouldn't run it with a 16ohm.
you can go down with a load mismatch safely but not up.
I'd say better safe then sorry in this situation.
I remember you posting that you already lost an OT in that amp already?
I'd check what Rj's shipping to the UK is for one of his edcors.

Re: New OT
Have you contacted Phil at Bluebell Audio?
He will be able to put you on the right track.
If you decide you can afford to pay some extra, I have just used Mercury Magnetics and I am totally happy with their products, with or without the self-generated hype, which is, admittedly, slightly annoying.
Cool running and great sounding to my ears.
You can get good prices from JMI in Texas.
