I don't know who everybody is but I love those 5751's. The short plates are VERY resilient to oscillations in high gain stages and they have a very nice, smooth tone with great harmonic content when pushed into distortion. Perfect V1 for a hot 5F6A Bassman or other Fenders where a 12AY7 is called for or a good way to knock some hair off of an amp that has too much distortion. Great choice for V1 in most any high gain amp.

Thanks,

I just wanted a second opinion as to whether it is an RCA command series 5751. I got it off a guy, along with a green ROGERS labeled 12ax7, on craigslist and have ut them both in the clean channel of my AD30. I think the the ROGERS is an amperex, which went into the phase inverter, and the RCA in V1.

I don't think the tube is from the command series.

the first three in this picture are the command series. they have a large logo as well as the RCA label.

Ok. There is a logo that has mostly disapeared. Can't make it out. It is on this pic I'll send. As well, the 5751WA mark made me think it was in the command series.

Do you have some closer, clearer pics of the logo?

Found some better pics on the net than I had. I think you are right about it not being a command series.

I can look through the tubes at the shop later and see if I have any.
If so I'll take a close up pic.
Even if your tube is not a command series it's still a nice sounding tube.

That's right, the "W" is military.

Another nice thing about the 5751 in general is they usually have pretty well matched triodes and can be good in a LTP PI, for example, although I have seen used ones that don't match too well.
