Transformer question

Post by MGW »

Want to get opinions on something. I want to use a Fender style pilot light. I've added up the current draw of the heaters and pilot light and I'm at 4.05 amps if everything draws as expected. Question one...is 4.8A enough in practice? Or should I run the pilot off off of the 5v unused rectifier leads? Bigger question is on the 300v secondaries at 250mA..is that enough. I was wanting to use Edcor xformers. The output is spot on, but the PT is the question. Should I get the larger with 300v at 400mA and the 6.3v at 7A. I don't wanna go crazy overbuilding, but I sure don't want to underbuild.

Thanks
It's all about the tone!
