Crackly Fender Deluxe Reverb Amp

Hi Guys, I wonder if someone could help me diagnose this problem Im having with my 93' Fender Deluxe Reverb? It seems to have developed a crackle, which you can hear here: http://soundcloud.com/is-shepherd/crack ... rb/s-EeDlv

It may be something as simple as replacing the pre-amp valves but Im not sure where to start really. It has been around 5 years since this amp was serviced and had the valves changed, but it hasn't been in regular use.

My usual amp guy is stowed under at the moment, so Im wondering if it is something easily diagnose-able and something I can fix? Thanks in advance of any help.

Could be a number of things... a bad tube is always the first suspect... could also be bad plate load resistors on the phase inverter socket

Yeah, check the easy stuff first.

Swap cable, twist knobs, jiggle ports, tap tubes, replace tubes, test on another speaker cabinet.

If all that fails, then you start to look at failing parts, corroded or loose sockets, cracked solder joints, broken/loose wires, etc.

Doesn't it sound like tube rattle to you guys?

check the 100K preamp CC resistors replace with metal film.
