Not quite sure what you guys are gettin' at, but I own Trainwreck Express, Cherry Lynn, and Trainwreck Liverpool, Roxy. I'd like to buy a pre '95 Rocket, so if you know anyone interested in letting go, please let me know.

Do you have any info to share on Cherry Lynn? I noticed that Roxy is on the master list, but not CL.

Thanks!

BTW: Looks like Ultrasound is selling Marcy, a 1992 Rocket, for $44,500.

Tom,

You have a lot of history sitting there in those two great TW amps. :)

What tubes are you running in those amps if I may ask?

Lark Street had the last Rocket built "by" Ken there also..Are you the original owner of Roxy? I've heard Ken talk about her...

Hey Mark,

Cherry Lynn has Mullard EL34/6CA7's for power tubes - they are welded plate single getter XF2's (not 100%sure about the XF2, as the print is very faint). Peculiar thing about the EL34's is they say "electronics for medicine" on them. The preamps are Mullard, Amperex Bugle Boy and Telefunken - all ribbed plate Ecc83/12AX7's.

Roxy has Sovtek EL84's for pwer tubes, and Tungsram, Yugo and Amperex Bugle Boy preamps.

Hey Dayn,

Cherry Lynn was built in 1991, and has Dragon grapics on the front. She's in fine overall condition. However, the original owner, a fellow named Kimo from Hawaii, I think, installed a handle on top of the cabinet so he could carry it. It might take away from the value a bit, but she sounds fantastic !! Both in lead voice and rhythm.

As for Marcy the Rocket, I'm not so sure Gene at Ultrasound will part with her - he REALLY likes her !!

Anyway, thanks for asking guys. Have a great evening.

All THe Best !!

Tom, I was joking, but only to the point where you returned.

Most times when a 1 post peep pops up on a forum and leaves an email addy and a question you never see them again, and your question was specific enough to warrant a Manix episode should you have been hit by a train, or kidnapped by Asian slavers without returning here.

:)

By the way, nice to see you again! How did you escape from Po Wan Gi?

Well, I'm gla it was in fun. Truth be told, I never heard of this forum before until I accidentally stumbled onto it. I've been a member of The Gear Page for a good number of years under the same username as well as a member of the Acoustic Guitar Forum, though only for a few months too. Anyway, no offense taken to the goofing.

Tom,

Thanks for the information, I don't have a Ken F. Express or Liverpool but maybe I should at least attempt to get some NOS tubes and make my copy of his amps sound better. :)

Hey Mark,

I don't know that NOS tubes make amps sound any better in a live band setting, but when you're playing alone, or recording, I really do notice a difference. And , for sure, know one in the bar or at the wedding gives a damn - it's more a self satisfaction thing, I think. t's all part of the "hobby" for me.

Tom, these guys have loads of mods you could do to get whatever you want out of your amps.

Again, completely joking.

Hey RT,

Ha, ha !! No, I will not be looking to experiment with these amps - I'm not even comfortable opening them up to look under the hood. Although, maybe just a few "reversible mods"............................................

On a side note, it's pretty amazing what KF developed in such a small package. You can just about do anything you want with an Express or a Liverpool with just the twist of your guitar volume knob. Almost 30 years has passed and we're still building four foot long heads that weight 75 pounds. If Ken's amps were not so valuable, they would be the perfect grab 'n go gigging amp - hop on the subway with guitar in one hand, amp in the other, and a backpack with a few effects and a snack.

All The Best !!
