Speaker ID please

Post by angelodp »

Hi, found two of these today... 8 ohms and they work, albeit quite trebly. Thy were quite dry and i gently cleaned them with a damp cloth.

If you recognize what they are, please post. I do not believe they are intended for a guitar amp.

best ange

What's wrapped around the frame Ange?

I'll bet there is a treatment for brittle paper.

I know guys put fabric softener on the cones of new speakers to soften them but I can't say that is what should be done here.

It would seem the old radio guys would know or maybe Jim at Southbay might know.

old kitchen cloth

Post by angelodp »

Hi Tom, someone wrapped old cut kitchen towels and fixed it with pipe cleaners. I took that junk off. The second speaker is identical and in great shape. I will ask Jim about the re-conditioning scenario. The speaker box says 59' on it. I am looking to salvage the speaker box for my champ build, I will have to cut it down but it's in pretty good shape.
