magnetic components universal transformer

900mA on the HT and 10A on the filaments. It is going to weigh 15-25 pounds. Hire a sherpa to carry the amp, or build it into a living room console that will never get moved. You may need to reinforce the chassis, or use a separate power supply chassis. You'll need a big friggin' chassis to have enough room for all the other parts, I'm thinking 22" or more.

What are your intentions? To power an octet of 6550's for a bass amp?

they changed the HT to 500mA. its for 4xkt88 amps projects, SLO etc

I saw that thread when it first started and IMHO even at the revised specs it's still a novelty outside of the Marshall or high gain clone toplogies. I find that "universal" rarely works out that way and you will wind up with features that you just don't need.

Lower the HT voltage and it' almost a MusicMan style PT

I have some big iron coming from Heyboer anyday, it's based on the Twin PT footprint though. I'm going to be crazy enough to power 4 KT88's or big bottle 6CA7's with it.
