Thought I would share this

I got tired of tracing load lines by hand on paper, so I copied the graph and saved it to a JPG file. Now I can open it with MS paint, and use the line drawing and paint brush functions to draw my lines and dots for bias points. Works nice for designing. You can draw verticals and horizontals in different colors or different plate resistances in different colors to help keep them in some sort of order. When your done or the graph is too messy, simple close without saving changes, and re-open.

I haven't used it much on triodes, but I use it a lot on output tubes (6P1P in particular).

Martin's spreadsheet is excellent.

I have been using TubeCad for several years, it is very easy to use too but covers only voltage amplifying triodes, not power tubes. However, it does four variations on each of thirteen basic circuits which can be useful. It does not do a LTP as we use it however.

If anyone gets ambitious enough to digitize new tube types for this Excel tool, perhaps they could be shared here. I have suggested before that this place (TAG) needs a repository for tools like this, and tricks like the one that started this thread. Stored in one place, they could be browsed and found more easily. I'm sure others have created such things and would be willing to share them for the benefit of all. What do you think?

I think it is an excellent idea. I to use your excel program, it is awesome. There are several good tools I have stumbled across here. There is a tube guide program also that I use all the time. And the tone stack program, too cool. If someone would make it a sticky, we could all post the links there.
