BM/Hamer clip with some honk this time

Post by Tonegeek »

I put the mike where my ear usually is. Way different sound than micing the speaker, but more of what I am hearing. The note definition might be a bit better if it had a hair less delay.

Amp desc: D-Clone, BM style
output desc: 2x EL-34 JJ
Speaker(s): 2X G1265, open back THD type cab

----------
Gain 1 (oclock)
T 1 N/A
M 10.5 N/A
B 9.5 N/A
Drive 12.5

Mic: SM58
Placement: 3' diagonaly from cab edge, 5' up, aimed horizontal to the floor in

direction of the cab
FX: delay off loop to FX only amp
Guitar: 2004 Hamer Studio Custom
Stock?: yes

Thanks! After 3 1/2 years, the amp is coming around  .
Tried JJ ECC83 S but me no likey (too middy). I have older GT's in V1, V2 and newer EH in the loop and PI. I have some old RCA grey plates that I am saving that sound slightly better than the GT's. Also an RCA in the PI is a bit better than the EH, but not by much. An EH or RCA in the PI both sound better in this amp than the Sovtek LPS that seems so popular for that position.
