Re: TW express build
I just finished mine in one of Allyn's chassis. It squeals nice and loud if I tap near the preamp or stand too far away from it. If I can't find the problem, I'm starting a thread. If I find the problem, I'm starting a thread

Two words:
Lead Dress...say them over and over and over.
I have found that building an express is a lot like dating a stripper...

Settles it, then. I'll just build a Rocket. No reason to get the clap just for building an amp.KellyBass wrote: I have found that building an express is a lot like dating a stripper...

You mean my amps illegitimate offspring are gonna start showing up asking for money and sleeping on the sofa, or that it's "only gonna work until it gets out of design school"?KellyBass wrote: I have found that building an express is a lot like dating a stripper...

OK, maybe the express/stripper thing was a bit much. I'm sorry. But, I wouldn't take either of them to church.
I've also got a new express build that's oscillating like crazy. It sounds like it's doing a lot of the same thing that yours is, Cliff. It seems to be mostly treble knob related. This evening I'm going to switch out the CTS pots for PEC's w/ ground lugs and see if this smooths anything out.
