questions for 75/150 and which speakers..

Post by toneslinger »

I am about to take hold of a 75/150 amp with verb.
I have several cabs to choose from from 4 10 8 10
4 12 and 2 15 cabs.
25,30,80 watt celestions
ev 12l and
tone tubby bmb setup ceramic and alnico..

What would be the better choices here to use with this amp
and which to avoid due to overkill on power...?

I am buying this amp to keep up with 3 plexi 100s.
one 100 watt twin and some Holmes 100s.

Also to have that D sound to go with F, H and M style
amps.

This is for home studio mainly.

I just dont want to blow anything and figured I would ask..
I wont be running these amps over 4 or 6 anyway

But with 150 id imagine it can just powder some speakers.

Thoughts on which to go with and which to just avoid.

I love my 4 10 cabs they sound great
Do not want them to blow.

I guess I can use a direct box out of ext speaker
and get line level perhaps that might be safer
considering the 720 vlts.

Thoughts ?

What is the amp again?

Is the 75/150 a model?

I really like the EVM 12L's because they don't hide much or color the sound but if the amp is a bit on the sterile side to begin with they might not be the best choice.
But they are pretty bullet proof.

For Fender type amps I do like some of the Jensens I've heard as well as Ted Weber's take on those.

What does 720 volts have to do with speaker choice?
