Hammond 193B choke - good for a Rocket?

Post by mlp-mx6 »

I have a Hammond 193B already in hand - 12H @100ma, fully enclosed choke. Will this be sufficient for a Rocket build? I know it isn't the 158L, but will it make a material difference to the tone?
Wife: How many amps do you need?

I think the rule of thumb is 10 to 15 Henrys but never tried figuring it out actually. Just based on other schematics of Vox AC30 type circuits.

I'm not much of a purist clone builder so I'd say this is an excellent Rocket choke... consider the source but I doubt you would ever be able to hear the sonic difference between that and the typical 15 Henry choke found in most Rocket amps.
