Re: New Rocket STARTS UP!!!

I went back in to check, and the 100K bleeders are going from the (+) side of the 80uf to ground, and the (-) side of the 80uf is also going directly to ground (not through the 100ks). I used the same ground point, which is at the "outside" end of the second 100K. There is a wire under the board that is bolted to the chassis. You can't see any of this in the photos. The amp is very quiet so I think this grounding will be O.K.

And yes, the wires are colored abnormally... green is 250V, brown is 3.5V, grey is 5V. That freaked me out a bit when you pointed this out Structo, so I checked the wiring diagram from Heyboer, then the voltages and they were correct... but then I thought... even if it's backwards, and it isn't going to hurt anything, I'm going to friggin' leave it because this amp sounds sooo friggin' good. Thanks for taking the time to look so closely. I appreciate it big time. Hopefully in the not too distant future, I'll learn enough to be able to give back a fraction of what I've gotten from this forum. I do know a lot about woodworking and lutherie.

Sorry, it looked like the large cap negative was going to the 100K through the yellow wire.

I think Mark explained it so you should be good.

Don't let that smoke out!
