Modern Eagle Amp?

Re: Modern Eagle Amp?
FM50 Modern eagle is up and running and sounds great.
PLayed it for 4hrs last night and my wife had to drag me away from it.
It's the best sounding amp I've ever played IMO but it's also the first time I've ever played a d-style amp so not much to compare with.
Now I just really need to get a d-lator so I can add some delay/reverb!

Re: Modern Eagle Amp?
Yes, this really is personal opinion. I respect everyone's opinion on this. Funny, I wouldn't normally mention JM in the same sentence with RF or EJ. Even though I just did. I find RF to be one of the most song oriented players that I have ever heard. He is all about delivering the song. EJ's songs are normally guitar and chops centric so I don't believe you can put yourself before the song in that case. His songs are very often guitar and chops. JM is just rich and happens to own some desirable amps. I sense a distorted ego and a 'look at me' factor in his playing. His stuff is all too contrived for me.I find the RF, EJ and John Mayer thing all a bit silly. Sure these guys can play, but I find them rather boring to listen to generally. I think they put themselves before the song which is to the detriment of the song. However this is personal opinion and a lot like determining if an amp is too bright. It's all subjective.

I do want to add a second amp eventually to get that Joe Bonamassa big reverbicated tone. And no not so I can play Joe Bonamassa songs, just adore that tone.
Any suggestions, I was thinking 2550 or superlead
I know Im asking the D style crowd about Marshall amps

Yup..Mark wrote:So Homebelly, did you get your amp working?
Thanks.
Now its all about me spending time playing with the PI trim, HRM and OD controls to get my tones set.
So Far, so good.
Cheers.
