billyz - Thanks for the info. You didn't say what 6V6s you were using? Tube people tell me the J/J 6V6 is kinda different, maybe more 6L6 - and therefore can stand a little more juice. Eh, but I dig that you're thoughtful about this. I am always amazed at what people will do here to a Fender amp - all in the hopes of having a Marshall. Buy a Marshall if you want a Marshall, you know?
As to the H75 usage and experience, thank you again. Hmm, your description sounds about right. Jim seemed pretty confident that I would dig the speaker. ........And you already know that I like the Weber SB. I have an extra Weber BD alnico kickin' around, 50 watter, maybe I should give that a go. Hmm. OK, something to think about.
I should mention that I have another friend who is gigging with a 6V6 Express and running a 2/12 slightly open back cab, smaller than the Vox box. He is running an EV12L and Weber ceramic BD. Outside of being noticably louder than mine, it sounds very good - which actually surprised the hell out of me. When I told him about Glen and his use of the felt in front of the speaker, he put three layers of felt in front of the EV. It made it sound even better actually by losing a bit of the brightness. Ah, but then that EV12L weighs in at 21 lbs!!!!!!!!!! No thanks! Take care.

Re: Express with 6v6's
Most people stall out when fixing a mistake that they've made. Why?
Re: Express with 6v6's
I use all the old 6v6's I can find. RCA, Tungsol, JAN GE, I recently found some Toshiba's that look like RCA's and sound pretty decent. I just got some Ford radio tubes, licensed by RCA, sweet. Oh, I have tried several sets of Brimar and found them too bright and lean in the bass for me.
I have not used JJ 6v6's, probably someday. I have had problems with their EL34's and KT77's though. Mostly Current drifting and running high after warming up, won't stabilize.
