right!
i've got them today and i did a new recording. (see my first post)

v1 tungsram ecc83
v2 ei ecc83 telefunken
v3 tung sol 12ax7

v4+v5 mullard xf3 bias at 39ma

sounds incredible. now i know what it's all about mullards an nos. :)

edit: i listened again to the recordings and it's hard to capture the real sound of the amp. the amp sounds definately different, bigger, warmer, more open as on the recording.

Hello, this is my first post here. That's a very nice sounding amp.

I see you dared to diverge from the original TW layout. Good work. Is that a toroidal PT I'm seeing? No hum problems with placing it on the input side of the chassis?

yes, the pt is a toroidal.
there was a lot of hum right in the beginning, so i had to move the pt to reduce it.
the chassis is a hammond 17x4x3 which i figured out is a bit too small.
because of that i had to put the pt behind the chassis and
i had to stack the board more or less on top of the tube sockets.
so the wireing and the leaddress is not the best.
but i am building a second one right now, where the mistakes i made in the first build, hopefully are rectified.
