That should handle a 50 watter just fine. If the voltage is dropping something else is causing it. Next I'd look at the filter caps.

The filter caps were recently replaced with Sprague Atoms although I can't rule out a premature failure. How do I check for a leaky cap? I read somewhere that you could use the resistance setting on the DMM to check.
