NOS Carbon Composite resistors unused - what to expect

my last build (a 20 watt 6V6 plexi I used metal film for the pre 1st tube stage input (1M and 68k) then all Carbon Film except for a few high voltage places in the output section, maybe the PI plate. Its a nice quiet behaved amp with decent tone. I'd do it again.

I'm an R&D technician at Zoll Medical and some of the engineers here have talked about a resistance co-efficient with CC resistors, and that they are good for taking fast surges or spikes, one of those or related.

How about $874.43 for a single 0.47 uF 600V capacitor?

Granted, silver has some value per ounce. But do you think that cap has enough silver in it at a spot price of 24 dollars an ounce to make up an appreciable percentage of the price?
