chances are than within 8 years they will leaking out the positive end and all the while before that letting ghost notes come thru at high volume levels.
Depends on your definition of "great", but Two Rock has used these caps in several of their $5k+ amps. I've used them on several occasions and never had a problem.
Yeah, great sight! this is a friend of mine amp. He uses this one in triode mode because pentode was bad. I decide to pull out the chassis and i've found a burnt screen resistors. I've fixed the screen resistors and I've took some pictures...
+2 on the burnt resistors - I could smell 'em in those pictures.
A friendly comment... Hi-res images that are out of focus, don't get any better at high mag. When you take hi-red images, it's often best to stand just a lil' further away so the camera can focus well.
Thanks Zippy for advice.
Later I will post some schematics I've try to draw but I'm sure that will be lot of mistakes (sorry I'm a maxillo-facial surgeon guitarist with hobby tube electronics study and DIYer non and engineer...). Please help me to redraw schematics and layout with clear diagram.
Ampgarage my new home!
Here my first draw. The amp has two channels. V1a for channel 1 and volume 1, V1b for channel 2 and volume 2. Channel switching via relay you could see in picture 5620 left down-center.

Here V2a and V2b traced by myself and maybe with lot of mistakes... From v1a out and v1b out by means relay switch to V2. The aim of this work is not to clone the amp but better know this one. I would put some modes and ad a master volume and here in Italy is difficult to reach an aware amp tech for this kind of amp...

It's a tweed super (5E4-a)with more filtering and one different preamp stage for the hot channel. I think it's fair to say most do not like the added triode/pentode switch.

I was only to give you the best and complete information because I'm not an amp tech but a diyer Who want to know an amp difficult to fix or mod here in Italy...
See rationale noted in post #1, ie to paraphrase, as an educational resource.
The devil / god being in the detail.
I can't envisage a reputable 1st world manufacturer being able to match DrZ's prices.

Yeah Pete, my English as you noted is not so good, my definition for word clone is build for money, I'm not interested in that. The word build is for build for learn and mod. But no problem I'm happy that this thread make you interested. This is a great forum and I'm proud to be part of this.
Thanks guy!
