Oh my god only a matter of time until these things get smaller and end up in our phones.

Lots of folks have been trying to replicate the sound of vacuum tubes using solid state devices for several decades, and none have been successful. I'll be interested to hear what results you get.

My thought exactly. Not entirely out of place in that type of playing and tone, and so probably the best chance for a solid state device to sound "passable," but I think the real thing was noticeably clearer, with less HF fizz and better note definition.

Makes me chuckle the way Jet City covers the bottles inside the package, so you can't figure out who the 'underlying' manufacturer is without opening up the packet

Without heat.. it has a little power resistor and a tiny current demand

Got a box full of these at the store I haven't even tried them out.

Jet City amps sound fizzy to start with.
