Here's our girls. The one on the right goes completely insane over thunderstorms and fireworks and the neighbors saw and the vacuum cleaner and almost anything else. We lost a dog on July 4th many years ago...she bolted out through the screen door and was hit by a car. I really dislike that holiday. We have exceptionally high fire danger and yet, we still have JOs setting off fireworks inspite of it being against the law and really stupid at this point in time.
Good dogs though...we love'm like family. Man can they run. The dog park is a fun place to go herding. Oh, and they'll stare a hole in ya.

Sure is traumatic for them with all the noise around here. Wish they would allow the fireworks for just one day...
We used to use Rescue Remedy for the period around July Fourth. It worked for our German Shepherd mix and border collie mix.
We just got the lab on the left. She is a lunatic. Bred to be a seeing eye dog but failed for hip issues, I personally think she has a meth addiction or a secret supply of bathsalts. She is soooo crazy
The black guy is Rocco. He is the dog version of me.

Man's best Friend, so true. Crank the sound system to favorite tunes to drown out fire works. Zero gets pissed more than anything. Here he is,and is so gentle with his three feline housemates.

This little fart looks like a keeper for sure. I've never had a boxer because I'm so hung up on these Dobies but every boxer I've ever known was a kick in the pants. You CANNOT be depressed with a boxer in the room. They don't allow it.

I've had many good dogs, but this little (but growing rapidly) goofball is friendly to people and other dogs, and just melts everyone's heart.
He's always happy to see me, and his stubby little tail doing his helicopter imitation just fills me with joy.
Oh, and I should mention that Lucy, my avatar, is bomb proof. She is afraid of virtually everything except Thunder and fireworks.

That's one hell of a fine looking animal mister. My old red girl, who we called Rosie was an absolute beauty and was beyond understanding in the smarts department. Alas, I don't have a good picture of her on this computer. She was natural eared too. She made it two months short of her 15th. Everybody gets one really great dog you know? Not to say that Lucy isn't the top dog in my life today but Rosie will always be the one I want to see again when i get to heaven. I got so many questions to ask her. Like, what in hell were you thinking when you tried to kill that Husky pup that the 6 year old girl had on a lead? Or, did you really have to rip out all the screens in the camper shell trying to kill dogs in neighboring cars? She had the idea that dogs were some kind of alien species that needed to be wiped out. Humans ok, just no dogs please. Weird. Lucy thinks other dogs are cool. Except when they aren't. You never know which it's going to be. A hint though is that small yappy dogs should stand clear. Big quiet dogs like golden labs and german shepherds are just fine.

Tried to resist posting, but couldn't. Nice bunch o' pooches in this thread. Here's our three, and our oldest as a pup growing up on our boat.
None of them handle the fireworks well, the oldest really has a hard time.
Cheers,
Greg
