compared to Israel your situation is great, here a gallon costs around 8$, 2 liters of OJ is 7$.

rent is sky high, you can't buy any houses (old or new), old apartments go for around 300,000$ (40~ year old apartment) and new ones for around 400,000$.

oh, and our average salary is around 1800$

It makes me sad, but actually mad!

Also, ever notice that just when fuel prices start to come down, there is a refinery that either has a fire or is shut down for maintenance, or they are switching to the Summer blend, whatever that is.

In the mean time our state in it's infinite wisdom went to E10 (10% ethanol)
Most people noticed a large decrease in mileage.
In my Chevy pickup (350 V8) I saw a 25% decrease in mileage.

There is only one source of ethanol in our state, last I checked.

So we burn more fuel and subsidize the corn market which costs more to make ethanol than is recovered by fuel prices.
(Talking about from farm to distribution centers)

Then they add it to the tanker trucks before they leave for delivery.
I often wonder how accurate their mixture is, doing it that way.
I know I have had some tanks of gas in my Honda Accord that felt like
it was struggling to run.

Brilliant!

F'ing morons.
Tom

Don't let that smoke out!

That drives up food costs, since corn is in so many processed foodstuffs on the market, and since nearly everything is transported to markets by trucks burning expensive diesel. Vicious cycle, in more ways than one.

There are some things government should not be involved in. Most things, actually.

When orange juice gets more expensive, I just dilute it with more rum.

There is no inflation. I make 1/10th the income as I did 10 years ago and the cheap food has gone up x4 in the same time.

No conspiracy to see. Move along. No one wants a 100% welfare state.

haha Zippy. Rum makes me answer the door in dirty underwear.

Guys

While gas prices remain high Cumberland Farms stores, which are owned by Gulf Oil, are turning 35% of their part time emplyees to FULL time so they can get health benefits thru the company.

It's a start, maybe the US will make a come back, hope so!
In theory, theory is the same as practice. In practice it's different.
