tsutt, Wassamatta U? Chemtrails gettin' to ya?
Do you believe everything you read on the interwebs?
This crayon-sentence looks like a hoax to me. Just another fib made up to stir up tantrums in the mentally crippled.
Name of presumed father was mentioned in article. Probably made up. Name of kid - SECRET. Now do you think for a second sonny boy's name hasn't been figured out yet? Not that it matters, because this has HOAX written all over it in multi colored crayon.
Notice what time the school district released their statement.

If that isn't a big fat clue I don't know what is.
Superintendant NIKOLAI VITTI !?!
Nikolai is a COMMUNIST NAME. Vitti? MAFIA!!! Ooooh it gets deeper & deeper don't it. Pretty soon we'll have the kiddies singing "The Internationale" as they march down the hall to their classrooms.
BTW we have all the socialism you could ever want right here in the USA. CORPORATE socialism. No matter who's in office, Big Business gets away with whatever they want, and we working stiffs pay the fare. If it ever changes, wake me up and let me know.
You can go back to reading your National Enquirer & polishing your guns now. Have a good evening.
Meanwhile from Nick C, hallaluya brother:
<<Public schools in the U.S. are controlled by teachers unions more so than parents. George Meany, former head of the AFL-CIO labor unions warned against government workers forming unions. He argued those workers could not serve two masters: both the people and the union. He argued "It is impossible to bargain collectively with the government." He was right. Too bad his wise counsel wasn't followed.>>
As a fellow upstate NY'er, we know that school tax increases are limited to 2% per year, unless the voting district allows more. Last time 'round my school district asked for 6 1/2 % and got it from the lame brain voters. And my taxes went up 11% There's nobody, nobody in the school district who can explain how THAT happened. They (teachers union bosses and their lap dogs AKA school boards) sure know how to waste our money don't they? Let's see what kind of nonsense comes up next month. The chief of the school board is already "doing what he can to keep the increase within the 2% limit." Hogwash. Bet you my school tax goes up 20%.

Re: what a 4th grader was taught
Actually the original quote was "People willing to trade their freedom for temporary security deserve neither and will lose both", and it was made by Ben Franklin.tsutt wrote:The loss of freedom is a socialist agenda. (Those who are willing to give up freedom for safety will have neither). T Jefferson. just making a point
There is also something known as Libertarian Socialism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libertarian_socialism) which rejects all forms of coercion, whether it be from the government or corporations.
I think the left vs right os an over-simplification. There is the vertical axis of authoritarian vs libertarian, which deals with individual freedom, and the horizontal axis of left vs right, which deals with economics.
A right wing Libertarian bitches about the regulations on businesses. A left wing Libertarian bitches about drug laws. Authoritarians on the left and right tend to bitch about everything, since they don't believe in equality of individuals.
It is possible to be Libertarian and left wing, say, Nom Chomsky. Left wing and Authoritarian, like Stalin. Right wing and Authoritarian, Hitler, and right wing and Libertarian, William F. Buckley.
I urge everyone to take the test here:
http://www.politicalcompass.org/test
It may open your eyes to the multiple dimensions, and make you more open-minded.
Also, trusting any article published by the Blaze is akin to believing any of the articles in the National Enquirer. Almost all of the articles on the web point back to the Blaze as a single source. The one exception is this article:
http://www.wokv.com/news/news/local/duv ... ona/nXKxm/
Which in this article sound to me like that statement wasn't the lesson, but part of a lesson designed to make students think about the implications.
I've been called a socialist before, because I believe critical resources that endanger the security of the nation and earth, should not be left in the hands of corporations (for example oil).
At the same time, I would hardly call myself authoritarian, since I advocate the legalization of drugs, gambling, prostitution, distilling liquor and and any other activity involving consenting adults.
It's never too late to have a happy childhood.

Re: what a 4th grader was taught
One little measure of any news/opinion/political site is whether they allow comments at the end of the article. Authoritarian leaning sites don't tend to have this feature.
The Internet made the new press all of us, and dictators hate a free press.

Right on Lefty, too bad there's no way to stick a "like" on your post.
Multidimensionality is a good concept.
<<A right wing Libertarian bitches about the regulations on businesses. A left wing Libertarian bitches about drug laws.>>
Is there such a thing as a bi-winged Libertarian that bitches about regulations on dope dealers? As a neighbor to "Crack Canyon" I'm bitchin' about the lack of enforcement. Regulations, schmegulations. If they're (gov't) not going to enforce, why not save paper & ink, stop making up & printing laws that gov't won't enforce. Also stop hiring more cops that prefer to hang out at Dunkin' instead of patrol the neighborhood. Let me have my own weapons, ammo & 30-round mags & I'll defend myself thank you very much. I don't give a spit about the drugs, it's people that are dangerous*. Good thing they're (usually) too stoned to climb the hill.
*Two of the former denizens of "Crack Canyon" will be cooling their heels in state prison (at taxpayer expense) for the next 45 years after slaughtering a family of 5 in Feb 2007. The barber shop they worked out of, selling medium quantities of various "white powders", was closed for a week, and open every day since, with Hummers, Land Rovers & similar snazzy vehicles parked nearby. Needless to say, nobody goes there to get a haircut.

Re: what a 4th grader was taught
I live in what would be considered a very liberal area. I will give an honest assessment of what I see.
There was a referendum recently to raise property taxes to fund the buying of property for new parks. It was hated by conservatives, but it passed. The result was the new parks increased property values and created great spaces for kids and meeting your neighbor, increasing the sense of community.
Win for liberals.
The city council pass a law making it illegal to bring your dogs to the beach, because so many owners didn't pick up their dog's shit.
Loss for liberals.
Why? Because they took freedoms from the responsible for the actions of the few. Raise penalties and enforcement for the assholes that left their dogs shit on the beach, and don't penalize the people that are responsible.
This is the real dilemma of modern society. How do we keep assholes from gaming the system, without taking away the rights of the non-assholes.

Re: what a 4th grader was taught
I guess it comes down to something I've tried to convince my kids of. If you don't have a basic decency and consideration of others, then we all have to revert to a bunch of monkeys hurling our feces at each other.
The problem is when a majority decide to act civilized, there's still one goddamned monkey that wants to hurl shit, so we make a law.
We evolve, but then a civilized monkey learns how to hurl shit without actually hurling shit, and we make another law.
Then a group of monkeys get together and justify their new-fangled shit hurling as "maximizing shareholder value."
Yet another law.
Eventually the good suffer from the actions of the bad. Because we've made so many goddamned laws to restrict the bad monkeys, that the good monkeys suffer.
I hope that the open source moment will affect other industries. It's sort of the belief that I can make a valid contribution to society, and make a living, by not flinging feces, while my competitors still do.

There is. He stole all that from my Ben Frankin/Niccolo Machiavelli fan page on FB.Leo_Gnardo wrote:Right on Lefty, too bad there's no way to stick a "like" on your post.

Re: what a 4th grader was taught
I'd like to see that Miles but I'm on dialup so it takes about an hour to sign on to Farcebook, and I can't navigate anything once I get there because I run script killer software. Am I missing anything? Do you have a Hunter Thompson/Karl Rove fan page too? I can only imagine... "Filthy @#$% &^@! Rat Bastard ! ! !" would be just a start... Too bad Hunter couldn't have used his final shot on Karl instead.Reeltarded wrote: There is. He stole all that from my Ben Frankin/Niccolo Machiavelli fan page on FB.
Give yourself a like then on my behalf.
I've done some work amongst the Mayberry Macchiavellis so I know how it is.

Re: what a 4th grader was taught
I have the worst FB access on Earth. I know exactly what you mean. It almost crashes even my fastest computer trying to market older women and auto insurance.
Lefty has a running story about a guy writing a book about a guy writing a book about a guy who writes books and the character is pissed at the guy writing about him.
HST. It's not just a space telescope.

There should be a law against facebook
Re: what a 4th grader was taught
While we are all bitchin about stuff.WHy in the hell can't we stop gangs?
If there is a religious nutjob stockpiling weapons somewhere the feds will come in and burn the place to the ground men women children and all.
But we can't shut down a bunch of diseducated hoodlums.
Wait i got an idea just make guns Illegal and all our problems solved.
Tsutt I understand your frustration.Yes there is an agenda in this country. Its to make everyone so weakminded and scared thet they depend on the gov't for everything and have no balls to ever check and balance what these cocksuckers do.
I mean seriously say 10 million people marh peacfully into DC to protest. The feds tell them to leave they won't turns into a bloodbath.Hell a lot of Muslim countries have more rights to protest than we do.

Re: what a 4th grader was taught
I took the test.I'm right inbetween the Dali Lama and Nelson Mandila.Who da thunk it.
I'm pretty right wing when it comes to family values.I don't care what anyone says a child is better off being raised by both parents.Pereferably one of them being there to raise the kid instead of just shoving them in day care.
Also some kids need there ass busted from time to time.Thats were the lack of respect comes from in the younger Generation. They've never had an ass whoopin so they aren't afraid to be disrespectful to anyone.
Everything else I'm fairly liberal.Except probably guns, Immigration, death peatlty and women being able to and vote.
