Are either of those things I could do without much experience? I hear a lot of people on here talk about getting electrocuted so hard you end up on another planet.
be careful - but typically theres a bleed resistor - so power the amp up for a few moment - when you turn it off hit the power (but leave standby on) - wait 2-5 minutes for the caps to bleed. Unplug from wall and all should be no worries.
t squeals when turned up past noon . . .
While lots of good ideas here - could be anyone of em - its starts to sound like a bad tube or bad lead dress to me if its squealing (oscillation?)
it really is a journey, and you just cant farm out the battle wounds
