I find that malware bytes tends to "find" stuff that's not really there. The whole program just looks and feels like malware to me. :/

I haven't tried SuperAntiSpyware. I'll give it a shot next time I want to take that approach.

MalwareBytes is a good product. I do run CCleaner prior to using MalwareBytes - just to remove the "tracking cookies" and to speed up the scan process. No need to scan the Temporary Internet Files, you're just going to delete them anyway at some point. So Crap Cleaner (CCleaner) is my first step.... but MalwareBytes has been good to me so far..

I just read some recent user reviews of it... looks like SuperAntiSpyware has a few references on the CNet user reviews for MalwareBytes. And some more recent bad reviews . I did wonder about the product when they went to a more profitable download/trialware system instead of being completely free for personal use.... it happens. I'm sure either product will take care of your spyware.

Another thing to do is delete the System Restore files as some bugs use that to reload the crap after you clean up.

So you can delete those files before scanning.

I have to live thru all of that because my company uses MS. Get a cheap, used MAC for your fun,...rarely will you have any problems.

Ive not had too many issues with Win7. Most vectors are 3rd party apps that I've seen. Same in the Mac world. Java exploits are common on both platforms.
