Oh, and really nice lookin' amp! Aluminum tape is an easy and quick way to shield. But thin sheet metal is pretty easy to work with a bench vise and simple sheers. Whatever u wanna try.
Yeah, I just get a light gauge piece of aluminum flashing that is the size of the chassis and staple it to the cab.
When you bolt in the chassis it makes contact.
The inside corners on this thing were cut with a 1/2" router bit. For some reason, I failed to realize this would make them harder to cover than sharp corners.
I am going to take some scrap vinyl and experiment with the heat gun. I'm wondering if I can stretch it enough to fit the corners without destroying the appearance.
I have a thin sheet of aluminum lying around. It cuts beautifully on the table saw. But foil would be quick.
Board stretcher?c'mon man. great now I got a board a foot longer and covered in goo. Most boards are pretty cheap looks like a lot of effort for a $3 board.Ther's noway I'm puttin that goop on a nice piece of lumber
Given the tools at hand and the crap I had lying around the garage, it turned out the easiest thing for me was to cut a sheet of aluminum and staple it in place. An upholstery staple will go right through thin aluminum! Didn't know that until half an hour ago.
I only got one piece of aluminum in my eye.
