I'd imagine that the gloves are "just for the picture". I'll bet, they came off as soon as the photographer left the building. ;)

Anyways, I thought that it was nice to see a modern-production amp built like it was still 1957!

If the Twinolux had 10thTx's Tweed Overdrive cascading gain stage, it would be perfect!

Soldering the tube sockets with an old dead tube in the socket could help from getting solder in the pin hole. I had that happen a couple times, and it is nearly impossible to get the hole cleaned out again. I ended up replacing the socket out of frustration.

Also a good practice to plug an AC cord (not energized, of course!) into an IEC socket when soldering to prevent melting the plastic body and taking the pins out of alignment.

Man I broke pin 9 off of a NOS GE 12AX7A from that.Was an expensive lesson to me.12 volt heaters,anyone?
