Yes, I have noticed that too.

A soft attack brings more of that Sax tone out of the amp.
A hard attack pretty much squashes it.

But like you say, when you are trying to cut through a mix, old habits die hard.

I guess the thing I like about my amp is the versatility of it.
It has such a wide range of overdriven tones and along with the other settings, it is easily my favorite amp of all time.

Of course that is after a pound of melted solder and a lot of components! :lol:

Well put. That is sort of the point I was trying to make in my post above.

Not sure it is much of a derail, and I strongly agree, the breakup quality was a big part of the attraction for me. I've always had a light touch and I like how these amps can sing, sort of clean but yet a bit of breakup (like no other) even with OD & PAB (I like a cleaner "softer" OD than some, and these things do it for me).
