Re: Anderton '64 reissue JTM145 - any info?
I personally use slow blow because of the inrush current from the filter capacitors. But like you said there is a debate on it.
I'm going to try 320V on the 12AU7 btw, obviously i'll have to adjust the bias but if it sounds good and there is no red plating then its all good.

Thank you guys for all comments and kind words.
I would like to share with you some thoughts about this small amp :
12AX7 doesn't sound good in output, no clean headroom at all, sounds too thin distorted.
It sounds surprisingly good for an amp with preamp tube in output stage.
It likes humbuckers, single coils not so much.
If you play it after playing some serious amp, it sounds too thin. (which is normal)
As an compromise for playing at low loudness - apartment amp, very cool.
To spend $800 on it, ridiculous, or you're too rich.

Best regards to all of you, Damir

Thanks! :)
Hi guys,
I want to thank you for all the effort and energy spent in realizing this little amp schematic, even if I think the CS JTM145 has something more in the sound... (Sorry! ).
 ).
Anyway, I do not have enough money for the original one.
In the past I was used to play with electronics, so maybe I could try build one head-amp by your schematic. Do you maybe know how much all the electronic components (transformer, caps, resistors, tubes...) could cost?
I would like to make it and use it as a preamp with my old fender whose distortion is really bad.
Thank you very much guys!

Well mine is costing me £230 but I bought a case for £100 and custom faceplates for £30. So if you didnt use anything fancy you could make this amp pretty cheap.

Re: Anderton '64 reissue JTM145 - any info?
I'm still waiting on faceplates for my amp so haven't yet started building . Once built though I plan to experiment by converting it to a 1987. I will do so by changing the tonestack values from 250pf/56k to 470pf/33k, changing V1b's Cathode Resistor from 1.5K to 820R and MAYBE adding a .68uF or 22uf Cathode Bypass Cap to V1b. The Amp already has more gain than a JTM45 should have so I think by changing 1.5K to 820R it might just about push it into 1987 territory, so a bypass cap may not be needed. Can't wait!

Re: Anderton '64 reissue JTM145 - any info?
Ampmaker sells a OT that will do the job. PT wise he has a small toroidal which I'm going to use. B+ is bit high but should be fine. If you wait a week I should hopefully have mine finished and can tell you if the PT does the job or not.

Check out tube-town (its a web shop in germany).
Mine uses a toroid pt from them (tt-t30)

This section of the site should have something that fits at a reasonable price.

Hello guys!

In the above link, the transformer with the lowest price, it is luckily the most suitable for the amp. Will do all the work.
This one: http://www.tube-town.net/ttstore/Transf ... md1uf5p3k6
Good luck to all.
