Just finished firing up my Rocket build. Beautiful clean amp. Too late to crank it. Even with some shit startup tubes, it is very 3-D and jangley. I really like it. The noise floor is at zero even with my single coil Tele.
This is a duplicate of a real one down to the perf and parts. You can use this as a layout for an exact duplicate. here are some pics...

Allyn - yet another benchmark build that inspires and is to be aspired to.
What voltage HV Tap does the PT have?

So it appears that the original did have a choke
it looks like the black wire from the standby switch disappears under the board and then comes back to B+2
are those two resistors in series from B+2 to B+3
Dan........
Hi Guys, the choke is a Hammond 158L 75mA 15H like the originals. I will try to have someone do some clips. I don't have a way to do them here. Voltages are dead on for the Rocket I copied. B+ is very low (like the originals) around 270VDC-275VDC. 100V +/- 5 on V1 (like the original. I'll do a full voltage chart when I get a chance this weekend.
Hi Allyn,
did you use common OT (like other TW clones) or a special one?
Do you think it's a dynamic amp that react like the express or the liverpool to the difference in picking or it's a different world?
Castor, it's much different than the Express/Liverpool. I used a custom tranny that was made from KF's linecard. Essentially, a Dynaco A-470 tranny with a few changes. The amp is swirly and jangley. The Cut control is backwards in the Rocket also. This was confirmed with two real Rockets. It operates as a reverse "Cut" or "High Emphasis" knob. The best description I can give is with the Cut control all the way down, it is soft and bassy but clear. As you increase the "Cut" control, the amp adds highs but also dimension. With the Tele I was using, it was like having a six string ovation with the control off and full on was like a 12 string and the knob was a mix control. It got more "swirly and "3-D" as I increased the knob. Best way to explain it.
I want to start over, seeing the amazingly clean look that you have going on! It looks really good . I would also love to know what the caps are on the right hand side of the preamp board.
