Actually it is front loaded.
You can't see it from the picture but the front Mahogany panel can be removed and there is a Birch baffle setting behind it. The speaker attaches to the Birch panel and the Mahogany panel is just for looks.
The rear panel is solid Mahogany.
I designed this so I could remove the front Mahogany panel and install a standard frame / grill cloth in place of the Mahogany panel.
It took a bit of work to make everything come together but it did turn out nicely.
Regarding the dimensions, they are basically the same as listed at the front of this thread.
My question for the Thiele type enclosures is, how is the bass?
Is it overpowering in a bad way or can you control it with the tone controls on the amp?

Taller (wider so on it's side, it's the same width as my head cab). Volume is TL806 spec, compensated by making the enclosure a bit shallower.
The bass is dependent on the speaker - not all work well with this port tuning. But with an appropriate driver, the bass from a TL806 is excellent - tight, not boomy.

The Duratex stuff looks interesting but I'm wondering if the pickup bedliner stuff would be cheaper?
Tom, I thought about that, but I don't know about the custom tinting. I can get this stuff tinted close to any color. I know you can get the bedliner stuff tinted, but I don't know if they can match something like Coco Bronco, for example. The DuraTex folks say all they need is a sample.
Well I laughed my ass off when I saw this thread. I thought I was the only truly demented one of the bunch. I did a TL806 Combo last year. Only instead of going wide, I went deep. I like yours better!!

I don't think that you need to add a dummy wall, inside your fine cabinet. All you gotta do is adjust the (dept of the) reflex port to accomodate a larger cabinet.. I made a simulation in WinISD, comparing the 806 (36 liters netto) with the Mesa Boogie Thiele cab varity (40L netto), assuming that this cabinet volume is close to your design.
The port in the 806 is about 11 cm deep - and all you need to do (again assuming, that your cab is close to 40 L net) is trim the port dept down to appx 8 cm. This will trim the port to 60Hz like the 806, but with the advantage of a slight 3db boost around 60 Hz, which in effect will give you a bit more punch.
If you download the WinLSD beta, which can be downloaded for free, you can type in the data and see for yourself. Why carry emty space around, if you can use it to your benefit, instead. Hope you can use this input.

In that particular one I've got a Vintage 30. Never liked the Vintage 30... until I tried it in a TL806. I have another cab with the EVM12L though (can't have an EV cab without an EV speaker... just wouldn't be right! )
