So it seems " Ghost notes" is just a term for an assortment of unwanted sounds.
I am well aware of the " Stratitis" , we used to call them " Wolf Tones" actually causes the note to be pulled out of tune. lower the pickup and gone, I like to lower the middle pickup.

Power supply problems too, are well understood and I have heard the ripple of bad, weak or aging filter caps.

Cone Cry, yes, I know it when I hear it, voice coil rubbing, Filament rattles , etc.

Thanks for the explanation of the the terminology. Guess I am not deaf ,just using a different language.

I guess I will just have to live with it. Its not loud but annoying. I tried everything like moving the ground for the initial power to the other side of the amp, changing tubes . You really can't hear it when the band is playing.

Had ghost notes up around the 12 fret on the b string especially...when I redid the lead dress including redoing the the pot grounding I had a cold solder joint on the bass pot...once I redid it the ghost left.

The bass pot is not grounded on a TW express.

Sorry it wasn't clear...when I was redoing my copper ground buss (using grounding lugs) and disturbed the cold solder joint on the bass pot that made it intermitent and caused in my express ghost notes to appear, I didn't "ground the bass pot".
